Vintage Fall Dessert Shower

I had the honor to host a wedding shower for my good friend Cherie, last November.  I can not believe I am just now getting the pictures up.  It must be that its raining and 66 degrees in mid August.  All I can think about is decorating my house for fall and running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte!

The shower theme was vintage and desserts.

I was so luck to find the bird cages in the clearance bin at Michales
and added some pray painted candle stick.  Can you believe you can get these
beautiful cupcakes at Wal-Mart.  (Yes Wal-Mart and they are good!)

Of course I had to have a little banner, I cut some burlap and used
my cricut to cut out the letters.   Despite what I have seen on Pintrest the vinyl
didn't stick to the burlap, that well.  Next time I will try the iron on vinyl.

I found this wreath at a yard sale, then I added a burlap bow, the brides future initial and some felt flowers.  Below is a simple tutorial on how I made them.

Here are some more of the felt flowers and spray painted
pumpkins. I did splurge on the burlap chair ties.

One of my favorite parts of hosting a shower or event is creating the invitation.  I was so excited when I found the frame at Hobby Lobby and it matched perfect.  Below is the link to the shower invite.
